2025 Indiana Figure Skating Championship Series
Welcome to the 4th annual Indiana Figure Skating Championship Series!
The Indiana Figure Skating Council invites all Indiana-based U.S. Figure Skating members to participate in this championship series.
The 2025 series will consist of the following four competitions.
2025 Championship Series Competitions:
Columbus Invitational; Columbus, IN; March 7-9, 2025
Metro Indy Skating Challenge; Carmel, IN; May 30-June 1, 2025
Battle of the Blades; Fort Wayne, IN; August 9-10, 2025
Southern Indiana Classic; Evansville, IN; September 12-14, 2025
Point System:
Series Championship medals will be awarded to skaters at the conclusion of the last (fourth) competition based on point accumulation throughout the series. Skaters must compete in at least two competitions to be eligible to be named a state champion in the Series. Points will be accumulated for the highest two results if a skater competes in more than two competitions.
The designated free-skate events listed below will be eligible for accumulating points for State Champion recognition. For IJS-scored events, the skater’s actual IJS scores will be used for point accumulation. For a 6.0-scored event, the point system will be based on placement as listed below. Designation of IJS or 6.0 scoring for Excel events will follow the requirements comtained within the Excel handbook. If the skater’s group includes out-of-state or other non-championship eligible participants, series-eligible participants must finish in first place in their group to receive maximum points. If an out-of-state skater places first in a group, for the purpose of point distribution, out-of-state participants will be excluded from the results and points will be distributed to series-eligible skaters beginning with the second-place points. Competitors who perform their free-skate program more than once at a competition (e.g., qualifying rounds and final rounds) will earn points based on their highest placement.
Points for placement will be published here when available
If a skater elects to change events within the same track (i.e. Well-Balanced, Excel, Basic, or Adult) during the course of the championship series, they will be allowed to take the points from one event with them to their new level. Points cannot be transferred between 6.0 and IJS scored events. A request to do so must be emailed to the Indiana Council of Figure Skating Clubs at infigureskating@gmail.com. Requests to transfer points must be made before September 5, 2025. Any requests after this date will not be considered. Otherwise, by default, points will remain with the skater’s previously skated event. A skater is only eligible to win a championship in one event. If a skater were to accumulate the most points in two or more events, they will be recognized as state champion of the highest-level event.
If a skater changes tracks during the championship series, they will not be allowed to take any points from previously skated events with them.
Indiana State Champion medals will be awarded for each of the free-skate levels offered by US Figure Skating. In addition, an Indiana Team Champion trophy will be awarded to the figure skating club accumulating the most points across all four championship series competitions.
